Personally to me, it was indeed an emotional moment for me when a special gallery
of rare photographs, dedicated to the late Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur, was created
at the show. It was the least JJS could have done to a mark a tribute to one of
the most fascinating persons of our time. Her contribution to the city of Jaipur
in the field of green and jewellery in nothing short of legendary.
The hyper-marketing of special theme-stones is surly is proving to be a great success.
The emerald as well, as the tanzanite themes have proven to be well taken by the
visitors and buyers. This also enables us to give thrust to a particular product,
and the results have been encouraging. We have now announced the Kundan Meena to
be given the appropriate promotion for the next two years.
The 7th edition of the JJS last year - as number of participants suggested-was
successful because the number "7" is the lucky. Perhaps it is. Nevertheless, what
mattered for me was the excellent teamwork displayed by the JJS Organizing Committee
- who went into micro-details to ensure its spectacular success. It surely was a
happy blend of exuberance and networking.
Rashmibhai, surely has left an indelible legacy in form of the JJS. And we stand firmly committed to take it to greater heights. That would be the ultimate tribute
to him.
With best wishes
